JGArchitects’ design for The New York Hotel Trades Council Training Center [NYHTC] was celebrated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of this new facility in Long Island City, Queens.
Housed within a one-story former auto-repair shop adjacent to NYHTC’s Medical Center, the facility houses classes available to hotel union members in Food Preparation and Food Service; while serving as a restaurant for Medical Center staff and visitors.
Before cutting the ribbon, Peter Ward, President and CEO of The New York Hotels Trade Council, spoke of the facility as “a place for opportunity and unlocking” praising JGArchitects project team: Joseph Goldstein, Kenichi Nakamura, Peter Lung, and lighting designer Steve Szynal for their creative vision in realizing this restaurant / school.
